punchjordan HOME blends old and new for unique style
When it comes to decorating tastes, Patti Jordan understands that not everyone is interested in typical high-handed decorating. So much can be done with subtle changes. “They come to me for furniture designed as a bridge between contemporary and traditional perceptions,” According Patti, the interior designer and the owner of punchjordan Home.
The company, located in Avon Lake, offers full service interior design, custom upholstery, textiles and color coordination. They also have a retail gallery featuring distinctive gifts, tabletop accessories, candles and furniture. punchjordan Home customers can expect the unexpected from a designer who defies expectation. “It’s a formula that I put into practice from the beginning. It’s born out of an appreciation for every style.”
The retail gallery showcases Patti’s signature style with offerings of “divine finds” –old and new for home and garden. Vintage furniture “bones” are amped-up and restyled in fresh designer fabrics. Antique and architectural pieces hold court with contemporary objects. The shop is a study in contrasts--pure Patti with a dash of punch! ”I want people to walk in and immediately feel disarmed. It’s meant to inspire.” Patti’s daughter Lindsay, is the company’s general manager. “Be an individual! Let you’re your own personal style reflect in the end results.”
The company has grown from its humble beginnings in a small basement room in Avon’s historic William’s House. “At that time our interest was antique tabletop goods,” Patti comments.
The business moved in 1996 into a 3,000-sq.-ft. storefront in Cleveland’s antique district. They changed their name to The Jordan-Etzler Vintage Gallery, concentrating on antique and vintage goods. In 2000, the company relocated to Rocky River, adding an upholstery workroom.
“Our focus became very strong in designer textiles. We began restyling and ‘punching up’ our vintage furnishings.”
Today, the company continues blending the old with new.
“Home is about the juxtaposition of classics with current home fashion trends. Patti and Lindsay are eager to work with clients on the signature look they are trying to achieve and welcome incorporating a customer’s favorite piece. “Oftentimes, it is the older pieces of furniture that receive stunning transformations.”
